FCI SD-card Connectors Meet Automotive Application Requirements

FCI, a leading supplier of connectors and interconnect systems, introduced a SD memory connector ideal for use in connecting removable storage devices into automotive multimedia systems. The newly introduced connector range fully comply with typical automotive application requirements in terms of temperature range and number of mating cycles.

More and more often consumers are utilizing MP3 music players or handheld GPS systems, and carmakers are facilitating this trend by designing vehicles that will connect with these devices.

FCI developed and now introduces a range of automotive graded SD-cards connector for this particular application in the automotive segment.

The SD-card connectors meet the required specification for automotive electronics applications, operating in a temperature range of -40ºC to +105ºC with 12,000 mating cycles.

The SD-card connectors starts at availability from 1 to 5,000 pieces to availability ranging from 4 to 6 weeks.
